Mama was hard to get along with, because she was miserable. She was almost
confined to a bed completely.; She had nothing else to live for, self pity most of
the time. She thought as the friends came they would brighten her day. But soon they would
leave and not come back. They just could not deal with Mama's ways. Harsh words would
come out and she did not mean them. They just did not understand her. Then one day a new
friend came. She even came back the next day and the next. How can I put this about Mama's
friend. She was like a breath of spring air. When she would walk in thru the door
the first thing you saw on her face was a great big smile, even when she was not
feeling well. You could see the glory of the Lord in her face. The friendship didn't
start this way at first. It took time for it to grow. Now Mama's friend stuck by her thru
thick and thin. When Mama would get in one of those moods, Mama's friend would bring her
right out of it and then you could hear the laughter coming from her room. Now this
was Mama's friend and I was not to talk to her. Because Mama feared I would take her
from her. I tried to share my friends but she just wouldn't come out to meet them. Now
this friend would sneak and speak to me as she went to do Mama's laundry. As
the years went by Mama's friend became my friend too! Soon after Mama's birthday came and
I bought her a computer and the Lords site began, Mama decided to share her friend. I
truly believe she is an Angel sent from above to share God's Love. His Angel helped care
for Mama for four years. We hugged each other and cried as we told Mama Good-Bye. I
thank the Lord for Mama's friend the care giver.
To Janie Greene Mama's Friend by Amelia Anne 4/1/00

Friends, it
take a special person to be a care taker. They must have a warm heart to deal with the
sick. Most of the time the homebound are so sick or depressed, they take it out on
everyone. So when there is a special care taker tell them how much you appreciate all that
they do. It is a very stressful job. God Bless my friend Janie.
Janie will be someone else's Mama's Friend.
