Seven astronauts were aboard the shuttle Columbia
that journeyed into space,
Today we heard the news that a terrible
tragedy had taken place.
It broke up in the skies as it was coming down,
Sending shattered pieces to the ground.

Today was a truly a heartbreaking sight for our eyes to behold,
As we watched and listened to this terrible tragedy unfold.
As we looked unto the skies above,
Our eyes filled with tears our hearts with love.

Love for the families of all who lost their lives today,
There are no comforting words to say.
For they will only find comfort in you,
our Heavenly Father above,
Please reach down and hold them in your
precious arms of love.

Gently brush away the tears that fall down
from their eyes,
When they are in mourning Lord,
we know you will hear their cry.
We know that your comfort will see them through,
We pray that they will draw close to you.

Heavenly Father I
lift up the loved ones of Shuttle
commander Rick D. Husband,
Pilot William C. McCool,
Payload Commander Michael P. Anderson, Mission
Specialists David M. Brown, Kalpana Chawla , Laurel Clark
and Israel's first
astronaut, Ilan Ramon to you in prayer.
Their lives were lost today
in the tragedy of the shuttle Columbia. I ask that you wrap each family in
your
arms of love. I ask that you comfort them as they mourn
the loss of
their loved ones. I ask that you keep their
memories forever fresh in their
minds, the memories of
the happy times that they shared together. I ask that
you
draw each one close to you. I ask that you give wisdom
and guidance to
those who are searching for the wreckage.
I ask that you place a hedge of
protection around all who
come in contact with parts of the shuttle and keep
them
safe from toxins. I ask that you give wisdom to those who
are searching
for the cause of this terrible tragedy.
I ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.
