The Angels of the Lord
The Angel of the Lord appears to be the same kinds of statements made about Christ. Here
are a few of the scriptures that convey this point. "For it pleased the Father that
in him should all fullness dwell. (Col. 1:19)
"For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily." (Col. 2:9) Christ is the head of the kingdom." (Col. 1:13; Rev. 20). "He is the Redeemer". (Col. 1:14; Mt. 26:28; Gal. 4:5) Christ is the image of the invisible God. (Col. 1:15) He is the creator of all things (Col. 1:16). Christ is an eternal being in (Col. 1:17; Mic. 5:2). The upholder of all things (Col. 1:17; Heb. 1:3). Christ is the head of the church (Col. 1:18,24; Eph. 5). The originator of all things (Col. 1:18). The firstborn from the dead (Col. 1:18). Christ is the pre-eminent One (Col. 1:18-18; 2:9). He is the fullness of God (Col. 1:19; 2:9). Christ is the only
mediator. God and man (Col.
1:20-22; 2 Cor. 5:14-21; I Tim. 2:4-6). He is the indweller of saints (Col. 1:27; Kl. 22:3). Also read these scriptures concerning the Angels of the Lord. Mt. 1:20,24; 2:13,19; 28:2-5; Lk. 1:11-38;
2:9-21; Acts 5:19; 8:26; 10:3; 12:7-23; Gen. 24:7,10; Ex. 23:20; 33:2; Num. 20:16; 2 Chr.
32:21; Dan. 3:28; 6:22; Isa. 63:9; Ex. 23:23; 32:34; Rev. 8:3-5; 10:1-11. The word ANGEL
is mentioned though out the Bible. They are Spiritual Beings created by God and they are
not to be worshipped or above the Word of God. These Spiritual Beings are full of the zeal
and anointing of the Spirit of God. Angels can work for the children of God in may ways.
Angels are called Watchers (Dan. 4:13-23; Sons of the Mighty (Ps. 89:6); Sons of God (Gen. 6:1-4; Job 1:6; 2:1;
38:7); Saints (Ps. 89:7); Hosts (Ps. 33:6; 103:21; Lk. 2:13); Spirits (Heb. 1:14). The elect (I
Tim. 5:21). They are Divine
Beings (Lk. 9:26) They are immortal (Lk. 20:36); powerful and mighty in body (2Th. 1:7-10; Rev. 18:1; Isa. 37:36); Heavenly Spirit beings (Ps. 104:4; Mt. 18:10; 22:30; 24:36); limited in knowledge (Mk. 13:32). They are higher than man (Ps. 8:5); need no rest (Rev. 4:8); Appear visible and invisible (Num. 22:22-35; Jn. 20:12; Heb. 13:2); operate in the material realms (Gen. chapters 18-19; 22:11; 2 Sam.24; 2Ki.
19:35; Acts 1 and 12); travel at
inconceivable speed (Ezek. 1;
Rev. 8:13; 9:1); speak languages
(I Cor. 13:1); created by Christ before
the earth (Job 38:4-7; Ps.
148:2-5; Col. 1:16); organized
into principalities and power with thrones (Col. 1:16; 2:18; Rom. 8:38; Eph. 6:10-18; I Pet. 3:22); are innumerable (Lk. 2:13; Heb. 12:22); to be judged or ruled by
saints (I Cor. 6:3); are subject to God (Mt. 22:30); observe us (I Cor. 4:9);
dwell in heaven (Rev. 12:12;
13:6); stand before God (2Chr. 18:18); Christ is better than angels (Heb. 1:5; 2:16).Angels minister to saints (I Ki. 19:5-7; Dan. 6:22; Mt. 4:11; Acts 10; Heb. 1:14); help each individual (Mt. 18:10); sing, praise, and worship God (Lk. 2:13; Ps. 103:20; 148:2; Rev. 5:11); strengthen in trails (Mt. 4:11; Lk. 22:43); lead sinners to gospel workers (Acts 10:3); direct preachers (Acts 8:26; 2:13-19); appear in dreams (Mt. 1:20-24);
minister before God (Rev. 8:2;
14:15-19); bind Satan (Rev. 20); protect saints (Ps. 34:7; 91:11; Acts 12:7-10); separate the good and bad (Mt. 13:39-41);
accompany Christ to earth (Mt.
16:27; 25:31; 2 Th. 1:7-10);
witness confessions (Lk. 15:8-9); receive departed spirits (Lk. 16:22); give
laws (Acts 7:53; Heb. 2:2); give revelations (2Ki. 1:15; Dan. 8:19; 9:21-23; 10:10-20); impart God's will (Acts 5:19-20; 10:1-6); bring answers to prayers (Dan. 9:21-23; 10:12-13; Acts 10).They are MINISTERS to saints as it states
in (I KI. 19:5-7; Dan. 6:22; Mt.
4:11; Acts 10; Heb. 1:14). Also
they are PROTECTORS of the saints (Ps. 34:7; 91:11; Acts 12:7-10). They wage WAR in actual bodily combat (Rev. 12:7-9; 2 Th. 1:7-10). The word AUTHORITY is flowing through my thoughts as I read
about these Holy Spiritual beings that God has called Angels. Everything about them are
Holy and they are powerful to protect saints. The Word of God talks about other Spiritual
Creatures that are full of His AUTHORITY. Seraphim (Isa. 6:1-7); Cherubim (Gen.
3:24; Ezek. 1:5-28; 8:1-4; 10:1-22); Zoa .or living Creatures (Rev. 4:6;5:14; 6:1-8; 7:11; 14:3,9-11; 15:7; 19:4). Spirit animals shaped like the fleshly
ones on earth (Rom. 1:20; 2
Cor.12:1-4; 6:1-8; Rev. 19:11-21).
Arc Angels, or chief angels who rule kingdoms and plants (Col. 1:15-18; I h. 4:16; Judges 9). Under the subject of Angels you will find many references to
Michael of Israel (Dan. 10:13,
21; 11:1; 12:1; I Th. 4:16; Judge 9; Rev. 12:7-9). The Angel Gabriel stands before God (Dan. 8:16-19; 9:20-23; 10:8-11; Lk. 1:19,26). Even Lucifer was an Angel of God until he
fell because of sin in his heart (Isa. 14:12-14; Ezek. 28:11-17; Mt. 4:1-11; Lk. 10:18; Eph. 2:2; Rev. 12:7-9). Make your own study on this subject and
you will realize the great AUTHORITY God has given unto these Holy Angels of His.
