Man is The Candle of the
Lord
The
Spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, SEARCHING all the inward parts
of the belly. (Proverbs 20:27)
God uses the Spirit of man as a light to SEARCH out the inward parts and
determine what is good or bad.
The Spirit is
that which knows, the mind, the seat of the will, and conscience. It is
by SEARCHING man that God brings to light what is in him. Read (Ps.
139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart:
try me, and know my thoughts: ;
Jer. 17:10
The LORD search the heart, [I] try the reins, even to give every man
according to his ways, [and] according to the fruit of his doings;
Rom. 8:27
And he that
searcheth the hearts knoweth what [is] the mind of the Spirit, because
he maketh intercession for the saints according to [the will of] God.;
I Cor. 2:10
But God hath revealed [them] unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit
searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.;
Rev. 2:23
And I
will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that
I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every
one of you according to your works.;
I Chr. 28:9
And the children of Israel carried away captive of their brethren two
hundred thousand, women, sons, and daughters, and took also away much
spoil from them, and brought the spoil to Samaria.;
Ps. 44:21
Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the
heart.). SEARCH me; O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my
THOUGHTS. (Ps.
139:23) I the Lord SEARCH the heart, I try
the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according
to the fruit of his doings. (Jer.
17:10) And he that SEARCHETH the hearts
knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession
for the saints according to the will of God. (Romans
8:27) The Greek word for intercession is
ENTUGCHANO, to intercede; to act as an agent or manager in all phases of
salvation and dealings with God. Read (
Heb. 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save
them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth
to make intercession for them.;
Acts 25:24
And Festus said, King Agrippa, and all men
which are here present with us, ye see this man, about whom all the
multitude of the Jews have dealt with me, both at Jerusalem, and [also]
here, crying that he ought not to live any longer.) .But God hath
revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit SEARCHETH all
things, yea, the deep things of God. (I
Cor. 2:10) And I will kill her children
with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which SEARCHETH
the reins and hearts and I will give unto every one of you according to
your works. (Rev.
2:23) The word REINS is the Greek word
NEPHROS. It means kidneys, or in figurative language, the innermost
mind. And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy
fathers, and serve him with a willing heart and with a willing mind: for
the Lord SEARCHETH all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of
the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou
forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever. (I
Chr. 28:9)
This verse is telling
each of us that IF we will SEEK Him with a willing mind and serve Him
with a perfect heart, He will reveal Himself to us. For the word of God
is QUICK,
and POWERFUL, and SHARPER than any TWO EDGED SWORD,
PIERCING even to the dividing asunder
of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a DISCERNER of the
THOUGHTS and INTENTS of the heart. Those words send a thrill though me
as I can see the awesome power that dwells within our Lord's Spirit
Words. The Scriptures are called (1) The Scriptures (Mk.

Pet. 2:2; Mt. 4:4; Heb. 5:11-14; Ps. 19:10). As
I was reading from the book of Isaiah the Lord touched me with His great
love. He had me to read these precious scriptures over and over again
until I could see how wonderful it is to be His child. "For unto us a
child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon
his shoulders: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The
mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (Isaiah
9:6)
It was as I found the study notes on that scripture in my Bible that I
got so blessed in the Lord. The word Wonderful, Heb. PELEH, a miracle: a
marvelous thing; wonderful. Trans wonders (Ex.
15:11; Ps. 77:11-15; 88:10-13; 89:5-6; Dan. 12:6).
As I was reading from my study Bible the Spirit of the Lord had me to go
to the Old Testament book of Exodus. In my mind I just couldn't relate
to this book concerning this message on the Holy One Of God. He had me
to look up
Exodus 23:20-23.
This scriptures talks
about the angel of the Lord and the authority of God. Behold, I send an
Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the
place which I have prepared. Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke
him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in
him. But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak;
then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine
adversaries. (Exodus 23:20-22) This is the same verses from the
Amplified Bible. Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep and guard
you on the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared. Give heed
to Him; be not rebellious before Him or provoke Him, for He will not
pardon your transgression; for My Name is in Him. But if you will indeed
listen to and obey His voice and all that I speak, then I will be an
enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries. (Exodus
23:20-22)

The notes on
Exodus 23:20-22
are very interesting. This has been translated various ways-"that He may
not rise to punish you (without forgiveness) , for My power is around
Him; "he beareth not with your sins, for My name is in His heart"; "He
will not forgive your sins, for I am manifest in Him" and "perhaps He
will not pardon your sins, for My name is upon Him." All these
renderings confirm the fact that the Angel was a Divine Holiness and
honor. God alone has power to forgive or not forgive; hence, a member of
deity is here referred to. In verse 20 the words "For My Name is in Him"
This statement denoted the full AUTHORITY of God, represented by the
name of God, was upon Him, in Him, around Him, and in His heart and
nature. This same kind of statement is made of Christ in
Col. 1:19;29.
As the divine representative of the God head, the executive of God among
Israel, the Angel was essentially all that God could be in their midst
to lead, keep, and bring them into Canaan. The expression the angel of
the Lord is used 25 times by Moses, identifying the person as divine and
calling Him God and Lord. To Hagai He said, "I will multiply your seed
... the Lord has heard your affliction.... I will make him a great
nation" (Gen.
16:7-12; 21:17-18).
To Abraham He said, "now I know...you have not withheld your son from
Me...By Myself I have sworn...I will bless you...I will multiply you" (Gen.
22:11-12'15-17).
To Jacob He identified Himself as the God of Bethel (Gen.
31:1-13).
Jacob spoke of Him as his Redeemer (Gen.
48:16).
To Moses He identified Himself as the God of your fathers, the I AM (Ex.
3:2; 4:28).
He further identified Himself to Moses as the One in the pillar of fire
by night and the cloud by day (Ex.
14:19,24-31; 23:20,23; 32:34; 33:2; Num. 20:16).
To Balaam He identified Himself as the Lord (Num.
22:22-25). To
Abraham He said, "now I know...you have not withheld your son from
Me...By Myself I have sworn...I will bless you...I will multiply you" (Gen.
To
Balaam He identified Himself as the Lord (Num.
22:22-25).
