John 14
12I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly
believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will
do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.
John 10
10The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came
that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till
it [1] overflows).
John 6
40For this is My Father's will and His purpose, that everyone who
sees the Son and believes in and cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Him
should have eternal life, and I will raise him up [from the dead] at the last
day.
John 4
14But whoever takes a drink of the water that I will give him shall
never, no never, be thirsty any more. But the water that I will give him shall
become a spring of water welling up (flowing, bubbling) [continually] within him
unto (into, for) eternal life.
1 Peter 5
10And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace
[Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal
glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be,
establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you.
1 Peter 2
5[Come] and, like living stones, be yourselves built [into] a
spiritual house, for a holy (dedicated, consecrated) priesthood, to offer up
[those] spiritual sacrifices [that are] acceptable and pleasing to God through
Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 1
3Praised (honored, blessed) be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ (the Messiah)! By His boundless mercy we have been born again to an
ever-living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
Philippians 4
19And my God will liberally supply ([1]
fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ
Jesus.
Philippians 1
11May you abound in and be filled with the fruits of righteousness
(of right standing with God and right doing) which come through Jesus Christ
(the Anointed One), to the honor and praise of God [[1]
that His glory may be both manifested and recognized].
Ephesians 3
9Also to enlighten all men and make plain to them what is the plan
[regarding the Gentiles and providing for the salvation of all men] of the
mystery kept hidden through the ages and concealed until now in [the mind of]
God Who created all things by Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 1
4Even as [in His love] He chose us [actually picked us out for
Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should
be holy (consecrated and set apart for Him) and blameless in His sight, even
above reproach, before Him in love.
10[He planned] for the maturity of the times and the climax of the
ages to unify all things and head them up and consummate them in Christ, [both]
things in heaven and things on the earth.
John 1
4In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men.
Acts 17
28For in Him we live and move and have our being; as even some of
your [own] poets have said, For we are also His offspring.
Romans 12
5So we, numerous as we are, are one body in Christ (the Messiah) and
individually we are parts one of another [mutually dependent on one another].
Romans 8
1THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of
wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the
dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.(1)
2For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the
law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death.
Romans 3
24[All] are justified and made upright and in right standing with
God, freely and gratuitously by His grace (His unmerited favor and mercy),
through the redemption which is [provided] in Christ Jesus,
2 Corinthians 2
14But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as
trophies of Christ's victory] and through us spreads and makes evident the
fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere,
15For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ [which exhales] unto God,
[discernible alike] among those who are being saved and among those who are
perishing:
16To the latter it is an aroma [wafted] from death to death [a fatal
odor, the smell of doom]; to the former it is an aroma from life to life [a
vital fragrance, living and fresh]. And who is qualified (fit and sufficient)
for these things? [Who is able for such a ministry? We?]
17For we are not, like so many, [like hucksters making a trade of]
peddling God's Word [shortchanging and adulterating the divine message]; but
like [men] of sincerity and the purest motive, as [commissioned and sent] by
God, we speak [His message] in Christ (the Messiah), in the [very] sight and
presence of God.
Romans 5
17For if because of one man's trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned
through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God's] overflowing
grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into
right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus
Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
Ephesians 5
2And walk in love, [esteeming and delighting in one another] as
Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a [1]
slain offering and sacrifice to God [for you, so that it became] a sweet
fragrance.(1)
1 John 2
1MY LITTLE children, I write you these things so that you may not
violate God's law and sin. But if anyone should sin, we have an Advocate (One
Who will intercede for us) with the Father--[it is] Jesus Christ [the all]
righteous [upright, just, Who conforms to the Father's will in every purpose,
thought, and action].
2And He [[1] that same
Jesus Himself] is the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins, and not
for ours alone but also for [the sins of] the whole world. 3And this
is how we may discern [[2] daily,
by experience] that we are coming to know Him [to perceive, recognize,
understand, and become better acquainted with Him]: if we keep (bear in mind,
observe, practice) His teachings (precepts, commandments). 4Whoever
says, I know Him [I perceive, recognize, understand, and am acquainted with Him]
but fails to keep and obey His commandments (teachings) is a liar, and the Truth
[[3] of the Gospel] is not in
him. 5But he who keeps (treasures) His Word [who bears in mind His
precepts, who observes His message in its entirety], truly in him has the love
of and for God been perfected (completed, reached maturity). By this we may
perceive (know, recognize, and be sure) that we are in Him: 6Whoever
says he abides in Him ought [as [4]
a personal debt] to walk and conduct himself in the same way in which He walked
and conducted Himself.
7Beloved, I am writing you no new commandment, but an old commandment
which you have had from the beginning; the old commandment is the message which
you have heard [the [5] doctrine
of salvation through Christ]. 8Yet I am writing you a new
commandment, which is true (is realized) in Him and in you, because the darkness
([6] moral blindness) is clearing
away and the true Light ([7] the
revelation of God in Christ) is already shining. 9Whoever says he is
in the Light and [yet] hates his brother [Christian, [8]
born-again child of God his Father] is in darkness even until now. 10Whoever
loves his brother [believer] abides (lives) in the Light, and in It or in him
there is no occasion for stumbling or cause for error or sin. 11But
he who hates (detests, despises) his brother [[9]
in Christ] is in darkness and walking (living) in the dark; he is straying and
does not perceive or know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded
his eyes.
1 John 1
6[So] if we say we are partakers together and enjoy fellowship with
Him when we live and move and are walking about in darkness, we are [both]
speaking falsely and do not live and practice the Truth [which the Gospel
presents]. 7But if we [really] are living and walking in the Light,
as He [Himself] is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one
another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses (removes) us from all
sin and guilt [keeps us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations].
8If we say we have no sin [refusing to admit that we are sinners], we
delude and lead ourselves astray, and the Truth [which the Gospel presents] is
not in us [does not dwell in our hearts].
9If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is
faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our
sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all
unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought,
and action]. 10If we say (claim) we have not sinned, we contradict
His Word and make Him out to be false and a liar, and His Word is not in us [the
divine message of the Gospel is not in our hearts].
2 Peter 1
3For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are
requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [[1]
full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and
excellence (virtue). 4By means of these He has bestowed on us His
precious and exceedingly great promises, so that through them you may escape [by
flight] from the moral decay (rottenness and corruption) that is in the world
because of covetousness (lust and greed), and become sharers (partakers) of the
divine nature.
2 Peter 1
5For this very reason, [1]
adding your diligence [to the divine promises], employ every effort in [2]
exercising your faith to develop virtue (excellence, resolution, Christian
energy), and in [exercising] virtue [develop] knowledge (intelligence), 6And
in [exercising] knowledge [develop] self-control, and in [exercising]
self-control [develop] steadfastness (patience, endurance), and in [exercising]
steadfastness [develop] godliness (piety), 7And in [exercising]
godliness [develop] brotherly affection, and in [exercising] brotherly affection
[develop] Christian love.
8For as these qualities are yours and increasingly abound in you,
they will keep [you] from being idle or unfruitful unto the [[3]
full personal] knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed
One).
9For whoever lacks these qualities is blind, [[4]
spiritually] shortsighted, [5]
seeing only what is near to him, and has become oblivious [to the fact] that he
was cleansed from his old sins. 10Because of this, brethren, be all
the more solicitous and eager to make sure (to ratify, to strengthen, to make
steadfast) your calling and election; for if you do this, you will never stumble
or fall.
