My Dear Friend, Open Your Eyes And
Breathe
I see you lay so helpless, nothing I can do,
I just sit and watch you lay in peace.
As they pumped bullets in your shaken body,
and you no longer feel any pain.
You can no longer hear me nor see me.
So my dear friend open your eyes and breathe.
Open your eyes and breathe,
if you do it will put our minds at ease.
We can't live without you,
our lives will never be the same.
So my dear friend, open your eyes and breathe.
That horrid day came. When we got the call,
that they were taking you away.
All we did was sit there and pray.
That you my friend would open your eyes and breathe.
That day we prayed for never came. You never
opened your eyes, and took one last breath.
My friend now that you are gone,
we sit and console about you all day.
We can still picture you lying there, that petrifying
day so helpless. Wishing that you my dear friend,
open your eyes and breathe.

This is a poem written by a young teen name Jessica. from Michigan. Tragedy in Littleton, Col. touched her so much she felt she had to write about it. She is 15 years old and I am sure so many other teens are still distraught over what had happened. I thank Jessica for sharing this with all of us.
