THERE WAS A MAN

There was a man we've
come to love,
They called Him Jesus from Above. He cried for us, He died for us, This Son of Man - This Son of God.
There was a man called
Jesus Christ,
Who made the utmost sacrifice. He died in pain, Yet He remained, To lead us into paradise.
There was a man they
seized one morn,
Put on His head a crown of thorns. His grief so deep, He could not weep, But, by His death, man was reborn.
There was a man, who
was betrayed,
By those with whom He knelt and prayed. His body bled, Few tears were shed, He met man's debt and overpaid.
There was a man at
Calvary,
Who died to set all sinners free. It was God's plan, To save each man, And grant to all Eternity.
There was a man we've
come to love,
They called Him Jesus from Above. He cried for us, He died for us, This Son of Man - This Son of God.

When I think my load
is heavy,
And I can't carry anymore. I think about the heavier cross, That His poor shoulders bore.
Sometimes I fairly
stumble,
Beneath my troubled load. But then He stumbled more than I, As He walked down Calvary's road.
My face is wet with
falling tears,
My forehead tight in thought. But He had blood upon His brow, From the crown of thorns they wrought.
My friends have but
abandoned me,
They are no longer near. But He had been forsaken more, And they taunted him and jeered.
I pray to have such
strength as His,
To be led by Jesus' hand. He suffered far more pain than I Yet, He obeyed His Father's plan.
